Who?

Hi.

My name is Nathan.

I live at Elanora and I’ve been living and working in construction on the Gold Coast for 20 years now. I’m a husband and father of 2 and a licensed and insured concrete contractor.

What?

I am an experienced concreter who operates primarily as a concrete contractor. This means I want to engage with clients to build their projects for an agreed price.

I have worked on small to medium sized projects (residential, commercial, low-rise, civil) across the Gold Coast and sometimes in Northern NSW across my 2 decades working here. I’ve never worked for long periods on high-rise. It’s crap. “All theirs!”

I work alongside a collection of very experienced, capable and knowledgeable concreters who also operate as contractors.

Together we are able to build your envisioned designs.

Where?

I like to stay local. It just makes sense to do so.

The traffic is bad enough as it is without having to drive to the next major city area to work.

I aim to operate primarily in the southern Gold Coast region:

  • Elanora
  • Palm Beach
  • Tallebudgera
  • Tallebudgera Valley
  • Currumbin Valley
  • Currumbin Waters
  • Burleigh Heads
  • Burleigh Waters
  • Tugun
  • Bilinga
  • Coolangatta
  • Tweed Heads
  • Reedy Creek
  • Varsity Lakes
  • Robina

I can and do accept work in other areas, but to be honest you’re probably better off finding someone closer to the job location.

“They’re all good blokes.”

When?

As a contractor I primarily operate typical business days and trade work hours: Monday to Friday, 0630 to 1430 as the standard work day.

Contact Times

By Phone

The best time to contact a concrete tradie by phone is some time in the 09:30 to 11:00 window. This is when we’re most likely not working our guts out. Not guaranteed, but that’s your best odds.

If you call me and I don’t answer – I’m probably too busy working.

I’ll call you back if I don’t clean forget.

By SMS/Text/Instant Messages

My preferred method of contact is ‘text message’ which means any of the flavours we have today:

  • SMS or “text” – 0478 008 608
  • Instant Messaging – I am on:
    • Facebook – search for beardedDonkey
    • Gmail – via my email address: beardeddonkey@gmail.com
(Google Chat/Hangouts/whatever Google wants to rename it to now… that is, if they don’t axe it totally like they do with 80% of their stuff they make.)
    • Telegram – my username is cabji
    • WhatsApp – you can add me to your contacts in your phone with my phone number and I will appear in your WhatsApp
    • I’m on Discord and IRC but I’ll just think you’re a scammer if you contact me on those.

I prefer if you send messages because:

  1. you can tell me some details about you and your job straight away,

    suggestions are:
    • your name
    • the job address
    • description of what the job is
    • how many square metres it is
    • desired finish (exposed aggregate, polished, tiled etc.)
    • etc.
  2. your message will sit in my notifications until I actually look at it, and that increases the chances I will reply to you

(I know, I should reply to everyone but I am usually very busy and I am old and have a terrible memory. I’ve tried to fix my memory and that isn’t going to happen.)
  3. text messaging creates a record of what we’ve talked about.

we can both easily scroll back and see what’s been arranged or agreed upon, what time things are scheduled to happen etc. It’s just way better than talking on a phone call and then forgetting everything.

In Person

If you want to go really old school you can rock up to my house to see me, but you probably won’t find me here unless it’s at like… 04:45AM to 06:00AM or after 15:00 (3PM).

Or you can arrange for me to come to your project’s job site and meet in person.

Why?

Yes!

Why?!

Why on earth do I do this?!

Because I’ve no generational wealth and there’s constant bills! Stop buying housing as investments and a way to increase your wealth! It’s not helping the rest of us! Axe The Block from TV like we should’ve 15 years ago!</rant>

Because I’ve never had a real opportunity to get away from doing this, and other people doing this keep asking me to help them!

Because I’m a dad with a family.

That’s why.
